Marjory H. Nuehring, 99, of Rockwell, IA, and formerly of Mason City, IA, died Tuesday, December 6, 2016, at the Rockwell Community Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, December 15, 2016, at the Rockwell United Methodist Church, 303 Monroe Street – Rockwell, with Rev. Dr. Travis Stevick and Pastor Louie Bram officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM on Wednesday, December 14, 2016, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue – Mason City. Interment will take place in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Marjory Nuehring memorial fund in care of the family.
Marjory was born July 2, 1917, in Mason City, the daughter of Henry and Tina (Zorn) Anderson. She graduated from Mason City High School in 1936. On November 27, 1941, she married Lester F. Nuehring in Mason City. Marjory enjoyed cooking, embroidery, reading, canning garden produce, walking, shopping, playing BINGO, reading cookbooks and sharing ceramics with family and friends. She was a member of the Rockwell United Methodist Church and Ladies Aide.
Marjory is survived by her children: Linda Jacobsen and husband Dale of Beardstown, IL, Marlys Nuehring and special friend Leon Gronwoldt of Mason City, Marlene Nuehring of Mason City, Ronald Johnson and wife Jody of Mason City, Dennis Johnson and wife Cobina of Mason City; 5 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brother: Calvin Anderson and wife Virginia of Mason City; and 2 sisters-in-law: Shirley Anderson of Osage, IA and Ellen Anderson of Ames, IA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 2007; 2 brothers: Henry Anderson and Emerson Anderson; sister: Flora Janssen; and grandson: Brian Jacobsen.
