Mark Dodge, 67, of Mason City, IA, died Saturday, July 18, 2015, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 213 N. Pennsylvania Avenue, with Rev. Kevin Jones officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, July 21, 2015, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue. Interment will be at the First Lutheran Cemetery in St. Ansgar, IA. Per Mark’s wishes, casual attire is requested - come as you are. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice of North Iowa, 232 2nd Street SE, Mason City, IA 50401.
Alan Mark Dodge was born October 16, 1947, in Mason City, the son of Alan M. and Naida (Lee) Dodge. He graduated from Mason City High School in 1965, and continued his education at Ellsworth Community College. On July 26, 1969, he married Ann Willock in Mankato, MN. Over the years he worked for J & L Tire, Bauer Built Tires, and later became self employed in the rental business. Mark enjoyed spending time with his family. He also enjoyed music, collecting coins and tractors. Mark was a sports enthusiast who loved cheering for the Vikings, Twins, Hawkeyes and Cyclones. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Mark is survived by his wife: Ann Dodge of Mason City; his mother: Margaret Dodge of Mason City; 4 sons: Matthew Dodge and wife C.J. of Mason City, Michael Dodge of Austin, MN, Nathaniel Dodge and wife Jessica of Mason City, and Aaron Dodge and wife Laura of Blaine, MN; 8 grandchildren: Macy, Abbi, Connor, Logan, Benjamin, Levi, Christopher and Allison; 2 brothers: John Dodge and wife Amy of Mason City and David Dodge and wife Nancy of Duncan, SC; 3 sisters: Julie Birdsall and husband Tom of Mason City, Jane Browning and husband Tim of Brainerd, MN and Vicki Gay and husband Tom of Wyoming, MN.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother.
