Marlyce Jean Larson

Marlyce Jean Larson, 84, of Mason City, Iowa died Monday, December 28, 2015 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, January 2, 2016 at the Grace United Methodist Church with Pastor Karen Young officiating.

Marlyce was born August 24, 1931 the daughter of Charles and Anna (Johnson) Gettis in rural Leland, Iowa. Family was priority one with Marlyce, she worked hard to support and make a good home for her children. She looked forward to her grandchildren and great grandchildren coming for visits. As the family “Jokester” she up for a good laugh whenever one would present itself. Marlyce loved movies, dancing and baking all those special goodies to share. She was extremely proud of her Norwegian back ground.

Those thankful for having shared in Marlyce’s life include her children; Susan Jean (James) Sanvig, Deborah Lynae (Randall) Stensrud, Brian Keith (Miya Lindh) Larson, one sister; Amy Jamtgaard, one brother; Dale Gettis, twelve grandchildren; Larry Dean Steffensen, Jerry Dean Steffensen, Chad Michael Steffensen, Jason Dale Sanvig, Stephanie Suzann Sanvig, Kim Lynae Oftedahl, Heather Lee O’Keefe, Jesse Randall Stensrud, Allery Jean Lindh, Wyatt Keith Larson, Jayce Henry Larson, Sayler Lee Larson, nineteen great grandchildren; Brandon, Natali, Danielle, Dustin, Brooke, Julia, Jeffrey, Zachary, Brianna, Charlie Ann, Mackenzie, Dakota, Josie, Grant, Chloe, Rowan, Brennan, Ella, Levi and one great-great granddaughter; River.

Mrs. Larson was preceded by her parents, infant sister; Ines Gettis and one brother Lyle Gettis.
