Marlys Jean Green

Marlys J. Green, 70, of Mason City, died Saturday, February 6, 2016 at the Mercy Medical Center, North Iowa. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday, February 11, 2016 at the Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania with the Rev. Kenneth Gehling officiating. Memorials may be directed to the Marlys J. Green Memorial Fund in care of her family.

Marlys was born December 22, 1945 the daughter of Merit and Geraldine (Awe) Wike in Rockwell, Iowa. She attended and graduated from Mason City High School in the class of 1962. Marlys then continued her education at NIACC.

Marlys enjoyed spending time with her family and look forward to being in the outdoors especially camping. She spent hours knitting, doing word finds and watching western movies. Marlys always liked hanging out with her cat “Baby” and joking with her good friend Loretta. Facebook had become her new found passion.

Those left to cherish her memory include her five children; Jeff Green of Mason City, Iowa, Chris Anderson of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Tony (Michele) Green of Mason City, Iowa, Matt (Misty) Green of Joplin, Missouri, John (Rachel) Green of Eagle Grove, Iowa, fourteen grandchildren; Jason (Talitha) Green, Jason (Amanda) Green, Jordan, Jade, Jacob, Audrey (Paul) Kuusisto, Cassandra, Christopher, Leah (Jamie) Holder, Heather, Scott, Elizabeth, Bryce, Emily, Kimberly, Zoe, Drake, Alexander, Maggie, one brother; Glen (Suzie) Wike of Arizona, sisters; Joyce Vorce of Mason City, Iowa, Connie Gramstad of Shakopee, Minnesota, Pat Wike of Mason City, Iowa, ten great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Green was preceded in death by her parents, brother; Gerald E. Wike and an infant brother Eugene E. Wike.
