Marlys "Marly" L. Holtz

Marlys L. “Marly” Holtz, 74, of Mason City, IA, died Thursday, September 07, 2017, at her home. Per her request, no services will be held. Memorials may be directed to the Marlys Holtz memorial fund in care of the family.

Marlys was born February 17, 1943, in Rudd, IA, the daughter of Ralph and Bernice (Schuster) Holtz. She graduated from Rudd Rockford Marble Rock High School in 1961. Marly loved being a farm girl. She loved and respected animals. Marly worked at many different places over the years and took pride in doing quality work at whatever she pursued. She was an observant person who liked to do things with precision. Marly had remarkable record keeping abilities with everything from the weather to finances to sports and bird sightings. Marly enjoyed woodworking, being outdoors and taking care of her dogs and cats.

Marly is survived by her partner: Linda Hanes of Mason City; sister: Janice “Jan” Townsley of Rudd; and 2 brothers: Dennis Holtz and wife Patty of Rudd and Doug Holtz and wife Donna of Charles City, IA. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, aunts and uncles, and brother-in-law: Don Townlsey.
