Mason City – Marshall J. Huffman, 63, life-long resident of Mason City, died Saturday, February 11, 2012 at the Muse Norris Hospice Unit. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave. with Rev. Kent Mechler, Good Shepherd Chaplain officiating. Interment will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery. Huffman was born September 5, 1948 in Mason City, Iowa the son of Everett and Jeanne (Johnson) Huffman. He attended Mason City Schools, graduating in 1967. Marshall was confined to a wheelchair at the age of 2, but never let his disability, Spina Bifida, a developmental congenital disorder limit him. Marshall was a fixture of Mason City, and often could be seen around downtown in his wheelchair. He served on many committees through the years and always had an interest in the betterment of the community. He was a vocal advocate for people with physical disabilities. Marshall had been a resident of Good Shepherd Health Center since 1990, he considered everyone there family, and enjoyed visiting and meeting new people. He always enjoyed attending the churches in Mason City, sharing his faith and voice with everyone. Marshall would like to thank everyone involved throughout his life for their kindness and friendship through the years. Marshall is survived by his aunts, Phyllis Kasper of Pipestone, MN; Marcy (Don) Kasper of Mesa, AZ; many cousins; and his many friends in Mason City. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Cemetery:
Interment will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery.
