Mary A. Anderson

Mary Ann Anderson, 80, of Mason City, passed away on Monday, March 10, 2025, at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center. A celebration of life will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 North Pennsylvania. Inurnment will be held in the Evergreen Cemetery.

Mary Ann Anderson was born on March 24, 1944, in Yakima, Washington to parents Leslie and Great (Armstrong) West. Mary graduated from Richland Center High School in Richland Center, WI in 1962. Following her graduation, she served her country in the United States Navy from May 10, 1963, until her honorable discharge on September 25, 1964. She was united in marriage to Gerald Anderson on July 18, 1964, in Clarion.

Mary worked as a secretary for Scheckler Colonial Chapel in Nora Springs from 1984 to 1987. In 1988, Mary started her own business Community Greeting Service Inc.

Mary enjoyed listening to music, reading and cooking. She was a long-time member of the Rolling Acres Christian Reformed Church in Mason City. She also served at the Community Kitchen for many years.

Mary is survived by her husband, Gary Anderson; daughters, Judith Goetsch, Lisa (Jef) King and seven grandchildren.
