Mary Ann O'Donnell

MASON CITY: Mary O Donnell, 57, of Mason City, IA, died Friday October 29, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center North Iowa. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue, Mason City, IA. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, November 4, 2010 at Butherus, Maser and Love Funeral Home, 4040 A. Street, Lincoln, NE, with Rev. Mike McMurtry officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Interment will be at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery in Lincoln. Memorials may be directed to the Mary Ann ODonnell memorial fund.
Mary O'Donnell was born on September 19, 1953 in Lincoln, NE to Dale and Darline O'Donnell. Mary graduated from Pius X High School, in Lincoln, NE. In 1976, she moved to Mason City, IA to be close to her family. Once Mary got to town she began working for Good Shepherd which lead to her giving 34 years of dedicated employment. On August 15, 1986 she gave birth to her beloved daughter and friend, Chelsi O'Donnell.
Friends would often catch Mary at McDonald's South enjoying her sugar free vanilla iced coffee. When Mary wasn't chatting with friends at McDonald's she would often be found on-line chatting with friends and family. Mary had a love for animals and was very fond of her dog Charlie that she rescued. She was an active member of the Temple Baptist Church. Friends and family will remember Mary for her big heart, her love for Nebraska football, and her snorts of laughter.
She is survived by her loving daughter Chelsi O'Donnell, Mason City, IA sister Kathy Thompson, Mason City, IA, and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Dale O'Donnell and Darlene O'Donnell Dopps; brother, Ted O'Donnell, brother-in-law Gary Thompson Sr., and several other family members.

Cemetery:
Interment will be at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery in Lincoln.
