Mary K. Stricker, 71, of Mason City, died Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at the Heritage Care Center. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM on Monday, April 22, 2013, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 213 N. Pennsylvania Avenue, with Pastor Kathy Graves officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM on Sunday (April 21, 2013) at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue and also one hour prior to the services at the church on Monday. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Mary K. Stricker was born November 29, 1941 in International Falls, MN, the daughter of Maxwell C. and Kathryn (White) Brown. She grew up in Elmore, MN, where she attended school. After graduation she attended St. Cloud’s Teacher’s College and also Mankato Community College where she graduated. She moved to Mason City in 1961 where she was united in marriage to Benny Stricker on November 8, 1963 in Glenville, MN. While living in Mason City she worked for the Hanford Inn, Farmer Opticians, Price Motors and lastly Principal Financial where she retired from in 2009. She was a long-time member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she was a member of the Altar Guild. She loved to read, shopping trips, camping excursions and spending time with her dog, Bandit. She enjoyed the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her daughter Elizabeth Allen and husband Don of Mason City; grandchildren, Avery and Kamryn Allen; step-children, Terry Stricker and wife Deanne of Elizabeth, CO, Cathy Parmer and husband Rod of Denver, Co, step-grandchildren Bryan Stricker and wife Kara, Benjamin Stricker and wife Linley, Carrie Stricker, Hilary Dempsey and husband Jack; and Julianne Wais and husband Dalton; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Nancy Thompson of Brooklyn Park, MN, Jean Brown of Shakopee, MN; brother, William Brown and wife Jackie of Park Rapids, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Benny in 2003; and one sister, Susan Gutzke.
Cemetery:
Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
