Maxine E. Clark, 87 of Mason City died Thursday, February 26, 2004 at the I.O.O.F. Home in Mason City. Funeral services for Maxine will be held 11:00 A.M., Monday, March 1, 2004 at First Baptist Church, 125 East State Street with the Rev. Ron Stein officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of North Iowa or First Baptist Church. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time at the church on Monday. Maxine E. Lewis was born June 28, 1916 the daughter of Burdette ?Curly? and Avis E. (Trevette) Lewis in Mason City. She began school in Kanawha and attended Mason City Public School System graduating from Mason City High School in 1934. Following her graduation she worked for J.C. Penny?s from 1934 ? 1935. Maxine then became the first student at LaJames Beauty College in 1936. In 1936 she joined her mother at the Family Beauty Salon where she later worked with her daughter Sharon. Maxine E. Lewis was united in marriage to Eugene E. Clark on May 8, 1948 in Faribault, Minnesota. She was a lifetime and faithful member of First Baptist Church in Mason City where Maxine was also a member of the former Y.W.A. Circle and held a Cradle Roll Card. She was also a former member of the National Cosmetology Association and the Pilot Club. Maxine is survived by her daughter Sharon L. Olson of Mason City; granddaughter Candy Hinderman of Mason City; grandson, Todd J. Kephart of Mason City; three great grandchildren, Sarah Kephart, Tyler Neuschwengar and Holly Hinderman; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Kip Trudo and wife Ruth of Mason City; nephews, Clark Trudo of Illinois and Clifford ?Kip? Trudo of Nashville, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Eugene, son-in-law Richard Olson, grandson-in-law, Greg Hinderman; two aunts, Nina Moore and Eva Jacobs; two uncles, Clyde and Allison Trevett.
