Melissa S. (Holt) Moore

Melissa S. (Holt) Moore, 33, of Mason City, passed away peacefully surrounded by family, Saturday, February 16, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday, February 23, 2013, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue, with Pastor Ed Bard officiating. A gathering of friends and family will begin at 10:00 A.M. till the time of services at the funeral home. Inurnment will be held at later date. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Melissa S. Moore memorial fund in care of the family. Melissa Holt was born March 10, 1979 in Blue Earth, Minnesota, the daughter of Richard Holt and Penny Cummings. She graduated from Britt High School in 1996. She worked at Super 8 Motel in Mason City as the assistant manager for many years. She attended college at NIACC and was interested in the Medical field. She had a love for animals and they always put a smile on her face. She loved the time she spent with her family and friends and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She will always be remembered for never giving up for her optimistic approach for life. She is survived by her husband, Michael Moore; children, Kaicey Follman and Carter Moore; sisters, Michelle Holt and Tami Jo Holt; mother, Penny Cummings; father, Richard Holt and mother-in-law, Mary Moore. She was preceded in death by her aunt and grandpas. The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the North Iowa Hospice Staff for all their compassion and care.
