Michael S. Barron, 57, of 819 North Madison, died Monday, October 22, 2007 at his home. Funeral services will be held 11:30 AM Thursday (October 25, 2007) at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue with Rev. Jim Stiles, First United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Wednesday at Major Erickson Funeral Home and also one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Michael S. Barron Memorial Fund. Michael S. Barron was born June 10, 1950 in Mason City, Iowa the son of Stephen and Berniece (Davis) Barron. Mike attended and graduated from Mason City High School and then continued his education at Iowa State University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree. He was married to Cindy Murl in 1996 and they resided in Mason City. Mike worked at Curries Manufacturing for 26 years where he worked as a Lead Man, he was a very devoted employee and was well liked by his co-workers. He was passionate about fishing and enjoyed fishing with his wife Cindy and the numerous trips they took to Canada. He was a devoted and enthusiastic Minnesota Twins and Vikings Fan. He also enjoyed cooking, ice fishing, eating ice cream and spending time with his friends, especially the Thirsty Thursday Gang. He also loved his two dogs and two cats whom he referred to as his ?Babies?. Mike was a devoted husband who enjoyed life to its fullest and always put his friends and family first. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Mike is survived by his wife Cindy Barron of Mason City; daughter, Hope of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and granddaughter Leah Christine.
