Michael Skadburg, 16 of Mason City died Tuesday, April 1, 2004 at Mercy Hospital in Dubuque, Iowa. Funeral services for Michael will be held 3:30 PM, Tuesday, April 6, 2004 at Wesley United Methodist Church, 1405 South Pennsylvania Avenue, with the Rev. Bill Poland officiating. Interment will in Memorial Park Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established in his name. Visitation for Michael will be held from 5:00 PM ? 8:00 PM Monday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 North Pennsylvania Avenue and one hour prior to service time at the church on Tuesday. Michael was born August 6, 1987 in Mason City, Iowa. He attended Madison and Harding Elementary School, John Adams Middle School, Mason City High School and most recently he was attending school in Dubuque. Mike was outgoing, friendly and had a great sense of humor. He was always willing to help out a friend and lend and ear and shoulder when needed. You could always count on Mike to be there. Mike has enjoyed many different activities throughout the years such as soccer, football, track, Mason City Swim Club, Stebben?s Children?s Theatre and Cub Scouts ? but his greatest love was skating. Mike treasured his friends and treasured his family and those that knew him, loved him. Words can not convey what a wonderful kid he was, though he leaves behind a large void, he also leaves behind many happy memories. Mike will be sadly missed by his parents, Rod and Michelle Skadburg of Mason City; sister, Katie J. Lee of Mason City; brothers, Jacob E. Lee of Mason City and Shawn Skadburg of Cedar Falls. His grandparents, Barb Haffner of Perrysburg, Ohio; Darlene Skadburg of Mason City, Oliver and Chona Ramirez of Mason City and Olga Thein of Colorado Springs, Colorado; great grandmother, Jean Stone of Mason City. His biological father, Epifanio Ramirez of Colorado Springs, Colorado and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his great grandfather, Kenneth V. Stone, grandfather, Maynard Skadburg and cousin Brent Goecke.
