Naomi E. Decker Jensen

Naomi E. Decker Jensen, 98, of 4 3rd Street NW, died Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at the Good Shepherd Health Center.  Funeral services will be held 1:30 PM Thursday at the First United Methodist Church, 119 S. Georgia with Rev. Jim Stiles officiating.  Interment will be in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Wednesday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue and continue at the church one hour before the service.  Memorials may be given to the Naomi Decker Jensen Memorial Fund.  Naomi was born February 20, 1910 in Mason City the daughter of S.M. and L. Edith (Hutzell) Decker.  She attended Mason City Schools through her junior year, then her family moved to St. Petersburg, Florida where she graduated from high school in 1926.  Naomi returned to Mason City and married Milton H. Decker in November of 1928 in Minneapolis.  Following his death in 1955, Naomi worked as a cashier at Park Hospital here in Mason City.  She married Thor Jensen September 25, 1965 in Des Moines.  Thor died in 2001.  Naomi was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Sarah Circle, a charter member of 50 plus years of PEO Chapter KW and 50 plus years of Occidental Study Club.  During WW II, she volunteered as a Gray Lady with the American Red Cross.   Naomi is survived by her son, Ralph (Janice) Decker of Mason City, son-in-law, Allan King of Ahwahnee, California, grandchildren, Dawn (Jack) Skinner of Laramie, Wyoming, Matt (Vicki) Decker of Safford, Arizona, Gay (Wade) Forrister of El Paso, Texas, granddaughter-in-law. Michal Decker of Edmond, Oklahoma,Blair King (Nancy Adams) of  Lodi, California, Kerry (Cliff) Neufeld of Ahwahnee, California, and Tracee (Darrell) Pettee of Golden Valley, Arizona, 19 great grandchildren, brother, Mel (Clarice) Decker of Paradise Valley, Arizona, step-children, Christopher (Sue) Jensen of San Antonio, Texas, Joel (Marjorie) Jensen of St. Davids, Pennsylvania, step-grandchildren, Tom (Elaine) Palmer of Des Moines, Mary (Bill) Block of St. Paul, Minnesota, Mark Jensen of Las Vegas, Nevada and Tim (Lorenza) Jensen of Italy, 8 great step-grandchildren. Naomi is preceded in death by her parents, 1st husband, Milton H. Decker, 2nd husband, Thor Jensen, daughter, Barbara King, sister, Juanita Parker, brother, Donald Decker, grandson, Guy Milton Decker, granddaughter, Dayna King, step-daughter, Kathryn Jensen and step-granddaughter, Kathryn Jensen.
