Neva F. Thompson

Neva F. Thompson, 86, of Nora Springs, formerly of Mason City, died Friday, May 26, 2006 at Mercy Medical Center North Iowa. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Wednesday at Faith Baptist Church, 1807 S. Kentucky Avenue with Rev. Daryl Thompson and Rev. Miles Grismore officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue and continue at the church one hour before the service. Memorials may be given to the Neva Thompson Memorial Fund. Neva was born October 30, 1919 in Belmond, Iowa the daughter of Archie and Rena (Claire) Landon. She was united in marriage to Albert Gayle ?A.G.? Thompson August 11, 1940 at the congregational church in Belmond. They moved to Mason City in 1948. Following the death of A.G. in 2002, Neva moved to Nora Springs in 2003 to live with her daughter and son-in-law. Neva was a member of Faith Baptist Church. She enjoyed playing scrabble, crossword puzzles, Yahtzee, listening to Christian radio and baking cookies for the grandchildren. Neva is survived by a son, Daryl K. Thompson and wife Earlynne of Coyhaique, Chile; daughter, JoAnn Enabnit and husband Roger of Nora Springs; grandchildren, Yolanda Thompson Vera and husband Gerardo of Coyhaique, Chile, Nate Thompson and wife Christie of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Janell Thompson of Coyhaique, Chile, Teresa Thompson of Santiago, Chile; step-granddaughter, Melanie Enabnit Patton of Mason City; great granddaughter, Kathryn Thompson of Grand Rapids, Michigan; great grandson, Andrew Thompson of Grand Rapids, Michigan; 2 sisters, Marie Watermiller of Hampton, Helen Hinman of Belmond; several nieces and nephews. Neva was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Fannie Halfpop; brother, Wilbur Landon.
