Nita Hjelle

Nita I. Hjelle, 76, of Mason City, died Thursday, May 3, 2007 at the Mercy Medical Center ? North Iowa in Mason City. Memorial services will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, May 5, 2007 at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue, with Rev. Kathy Graves officiating. Inurnment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Nita Hjelle Memorial Fund. Nita was born September 12, 1930 in Mason City, the daughter of Henry and Lela (Jump) True. She attended Mason City Schools. She was a homemaker and also helped her husband with remodeling. Nita enjoyed gardening, putting puzzles together and crosswords. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Moose Lodge. Nita is survived by her husband: Helmer Hjelle; her children: Larry Hjelle and wife Margaret of Plymouth, IA, Sally Anderson and husband Gary of Mason City, Leland Hjelle of Mason City, Marty Hjelle and wife Nancy of Mason City, and Robin Hjelle and wife Joy of Manly; Several grandchildren and great grandchildren; one sister: Cleta of Creston, IA. Nita was preceded in death by her parents; two sons: Hans and Mickey; a daughter: Sue Johnson; one granddaughter: Amanda Sue Hjelle; two ½ brothers, three brothers and one sister in infancy.
