Nyle Dean Rippentrop was born April 17, 1940, to parents Albert and Dorothy (Lester) Rippentrop in Lakota, Iowa. He graduated from Lakota School. Nyle was united in marriage to Lucretia Clapper, and the couple were blessed with two children, Laurie and Patrick.
Nyle graduated from Barber School in Sioux City, Iowa and barbered in Mason City from 1963-2007. Nyle later married Marge Nelson.
In his free time, Nyle loved hunting, fishing, golfing, wood working, and playing cribbage. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan, and always looked forward to residing in Tucson, AZ every winter and spending time with Nada. They enjoyed traveling the back roads of Arizona, taking in the scenery. Nyle will be deeply missed by those who knew him and loved him.
Nyle is survived by his children, Laurie (Al) Rollefson of Coon Rapids, IA and Patrick (Michele) Rippentrop of Cedar Falls; grandson, Kevin Rippentrop and friend Abbey Kuntz; stepchildren, Brad (Julie) Nelson of Mason City and Suzanne Nelson of Edina, MN; step grandchildren, Taylor Nelson and friend Jimmie Butler, Chase Nelson, Anthony Harvey, Alexis (Evan) Collins, Marcus Harvey, Melissa (Corey) Timm, Michael Schleusner; 9 step great grandchildren; sister, Caralee Wright of Mason City; and several nieces and nephews, and special friend, Nada Davison of Nora Springs.
Nyle was preceded in death by his parents, brother and sister-in-law, Waynard and Elenora Rippentrop; daughter-in-law, Kaye Rippentrop; wife, Marge; and brother-in-law, Bob Wright.
