Patricia Ann OHara, 65, of Mason City, died Saturday, October 29, 2011, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, November 2, 2011, at Faith Baptist Church, 1807 South Kentucky, with Rev. Miles Grismore officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the church service. A private family burial will be in the Buffalo Township Cemetery near Titonka, IA. Memorials may be directed to Faith Baptist Church or Hospice of North Iowa, 232 2nd Street SE, Mason City, IA 50401. Patricia was born October 23, 1946, in Mason City, the daughter of Merle Wesley and Vera Estella (Mechler) Schwietert. Patricias early childhood years were lived at her Titonka family farm and then in 1951, her parents moved to their farm in Burt, IA. Patricia lived there until she graduated from Burt High School in 1964. After graduation, Patricia attended and graduated from Iowa Methodist School of Nursing in Des Moines, IA. Over the years, Patricia worked as a Registered Nurse at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, a Public Health Nurse (for many years) in Newton, IA, and most recently working part-time as a Patient Escort, at Good Shepherd Health Center. She loved being a nurse. Patricia was a member of Faith Baptist Church, where she often enjoyed Bible study. She enjoyed crocheting, taking care of her cat, Clint, baking pies (especially pecan), taking trips to visit her sister out east, and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. Patricia has great faith in Jesus Christ a vital part of her life. Patricia is survived by her children: Jim Zimmerman of Clearwater, FL, Kelli Hommer and husband Dave of Minnetrista, MN, Faith Bayeur of Minneapolis, MN, Shane Zimmerman and wife Keri of Urbandale, IA, and Eric Zimmerman and wife Angie of Mason City; her grandchildren: Jamie, Madeleine, Gabriella, Johnathan, Annabelle, Nathaniel, Ethan, Aidan, Marci, and Jahmen. She is also survived by her sister, Shirley Dana and husband Paul of Waynesboro, VA. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother in childhood, Gary Schwietert.
