Patricia Jane Schintgen, 67, of 1423 N. Monroe Avenue, died Monday, November 26, 2007 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit after battling breast cancer. Funeral services will be held 1:30 PM Friday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue with Pastor George Johnson, Harvestime Church officiating. Inurnment will be in Clear Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Thursday at Major Erickson Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to the Jane Schintgen Memorial Fund. Jane was born April 23, 1940 in Fertile, Iowa the daughter of Ernest and Lucille (Prestholt) Fankell. She was a long time employee of Good Shepherd Health Center where she continued to work until she became ill. Jane married James D. Schintgen July 2, 1982 in Nashua, Iowa. He preceded her in death in 1987. Jane loved spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed cooking, gardening, and animals. Jane is survived by 2 daughters, Kim Bezdicek and husband Vic of Mason City, Barb Paulson and friend Jerry Lee Kopischke of Lake Crystal, Minnesota, 3 grandchildren, Jacob and Nathan Paulson and Jessica Bezdicek, 1 brother, Tom Fankel and wife Mary of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. Jane is preceded is death by her parents, husband, James Schintgen, son, Jeffrey James Dankbar, brother, James Fankel and sister, Mary Lou Scholl.
