Paul Brockmeyer

September 25, 1947 — December 8, 2024

Sheffield

Paul Brockmeyer, 77, of Sheffield, passed away December 8, 2024, at Franklin General Hospital in Hampton. Celebration of life services will be held at a later date.

Paul was born September 25, 1947 in Newark, New Jersey to parents Josef and Pearl (Nelson) Brockmeyer. He graduated from Toms River North High school in Toms River, New Jersey in 1966. He then went on to attend Upper Iowa University and earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting. He was a part of the New Jersey National Guard from 1972-1978.

Paul was united in marriage to Kristie Theesfeld on April 1, 1972, at First United Methodist Church in Mason City. To this union 3 children were born Amanda, Amber, and Eric.

Paul owned and operated Paul’s Steak and Seafood restaurant in Sheffield for many years. He sold the business and retired in 2012. Paul loved to cook for people and would make sure people were fed. Paul had a big heart and would do anything to make sure people had what they needed. A lot of the time he helped people without even telling anybody else. He was a very kind- and tender-hearted person.

Paul loved to host people and loved to chat with people. When Paul owned the restaurant, he would chat with everyone and could make friends with just about everyone. After he retired, he would still have people over to his garage and they would sit and chat for hours. Paul loved to golf, take many trips with his family, and play cribbage.

Paul is survived by his wife, Kristie; daughter, Amber (Matthew) Kalmin; son, Eric Brockmeyer, and granddaughter Layla Brockmeyer.

Paul is preceded in death by his parents, Josef and Pearl Brockmeyer; brother, Ralph Brockmeyer; in-laws Edward and Betty Theesfeld; and infant daughter Amanda Brockmeyer.
