Paul F. Johnson

Paul F. Johnson, 64, of Mason City, died Sunday, June 29, 2014 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit after a courageous fight with cancer. Memorial services will be held 7:00 PM Thursday, July 10, 2014 at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue with Rev. Kenneth Gehling officiating. The family will greet friends at the funeral home one hour before the service. Memorials may be directed to the Paul Johnson Memorial Fund. Paul was born January 8, 1950 in Mason City the son of Robert and Zelma Rae (Watkins) Johnson. He married Deb Walters December 15, 1978 in Osage. Paul worked at Lifetime and then IMT in Garner. He began his automotive career at J&L Firestone and Bauer Built Tire. Since 1986, Paul and Deb have owned and operated City Tire. Paul loved the outdoors, camping, fishing, golfing, and reading. Paul is survived by his wife, Deb of Mason City; siblings, Elizabeth (Marvin) Engstler of Garner, Joe Johnson of Faribault, Minnesota, and Ellen Johnson of Seattle, Washington; father-in-law, LeRoy Walters of Osage; brother-in-law, Dave (Chris) Walters of Osage; many nieces and nephews. Paul was preceded in death by his parents and mother-in-law, Genevieve Walters.
