Pearl Callow May, 88, of 302 2nd St. NE, died Saturday, September 3, 2005 at the Good Shepherd Health Center. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Wednesday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue with Rev. Jim Stiles, First United Methodist Church officiating. Inurnment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday at Major Erickson Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to the Pearl Callow May Memorial Fund. Pearl was born September 1, 1917 in rural St. James, Minnesota the daughter of Charles and Grace (Mendenhall) Foglesong. She graduated from Guthrie Center High School in 1935 then moved to Mason City that same year. Pearl married Orrin Callow in 1936 in Guthrie Center. Orrin died in 1959. She would later marry Donald May. Pearl worked as a cashier at McLellan?s Variety Store and later at Walmart. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the VFW. She was an avid bowler, enjoyed playing bingo with her friends, dancing and basketball. Pearl is survived by 2 sons, Raymond Callow and wife Gloria of Eagle Grove, Ronald Callow and wife Sheila of Mason City; daughter-in-law, Carol Callow of Grafton; sister, Gladys Northrup of Mason City; brother, Paul Foglesong and wife Adabelle of Guthrie Center; 8 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Laura, Margaret and Helen Foglesong; several nieces and nephews. Pearl was preceded in death by her parents, 1st and 2nd husband?s, 2 sons, Richard O. Callow and Robert Callow; 2 sisters and 4 brothers.
