Penny K. Sellergren

Penny K. Sellergren, 63, of 940 Briarstone Drive, died Saturday, October 14, 2005 at home. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Wednesday at St. John?s Episcopal Church, 120 1st Street NE with Rev. Wendy K. Abrahamson officiating. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue. Memorials may be given to the Penny K. Sellergren Memorial Fund. Penny was born March 10, 1942 in Hannibal, Missouri the daughter of Glenn and Margaret (Bryan) Conboy. She graduated from high school in Hannibal then attended Northwest Missouri State in Maryville. Penny married Stephen G. Sellergren November 24, 1961 in Clarinda, Iowa. Over the next ten years, Penny and Steve would live in Omaha, Nebraska, Peru, Nebraska, San Francisco, California, Danbury, Iowa and Fort Collins, Colorado. While living in San Francisco, Penny worked for the Bank of America. They moved to Mason City in 1971. Penny worked as a personnel banker for Norwest Bank for 22 years. She retired in 2000. Penny was a member of the IY chapter of PEO, D.A.R., Mason City Country Club and past Cub Scout den leader. She enjoyed decorating her home and spending time with her grandchildren. Penny is survived by her husband, Stephen G. Sellergren of Mason City; children, Todd Sellergren and wife Pamela of Osage, Derrick Sellergren and wife Rhonda of Mason City, Tyler Sellergren of Mason City; grandchildren, Nicole, Alexa, Mackenzie, Riley, Chelsea and Danielle; sister, Ann Washburn and husband Ken of Hannibal, Missouri; brother, Tim Conboy of Jefferson City, Missouri. Penny was preceded in death by her parents and step-father.
