Phyllis V. Driscoll

RICHFIELD, MINNESOTA: Phyllis V. Driscoll, 89, of Richfield, formerly of Mason City, died Sunday, April 13, 2008 at the New Brighton Health and Rehab Center, New Brighton, Minnesota.  Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Friday at the Clear Lake Cemetery with Pastor Tom Healey, Chaplain, Hospice of North Iowa officiating.  Military rites will be conducted by the Mason City Veterans Memorial Association.  Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Thursday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue with a prayer service at 6:30 PM.  Memorials may be given to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.  Phyllis was born January 11, 1919 in Fertile, Iowa the daughter of Floyd C. and Ina B. (McKibben) VanNote.  She was raised in Mason City graduating from Mason City High School and Mason City Junior College.  She later graduated from St. Marys School of Nursing, Rochester, Minnesota and Mt. Carmel Mercy Hospital, Detroit, Michigan.  Phyllis served in the US Army Nurse Corp during WW II.  She was employed by the Veterans Administration for 42 years working as an Anesthetist in V.A. Hospitals.  She retired in September of 1985 from the Des Moines V.A. Hospital.  Phyllis married Robert W. Driscoll August 8, 1954 in St. Paul, Minnesota.  She was a member of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists. 
 
Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Susan Anderson and husband Jerry of St. Paul, Minnesota, grandchildren, Tracy Loomis and husband Ken, Leslie Sandholm and husband Steve, Michael Anderson and wife Paige and Eric Anderson, 8 great grandchildren. 
 
Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert, sister, Shirley Bell and 1 great grandchild.
