MASON CITY Randal Eldridge, 57, of Mason City, died Monday, July 27, 2009 at the Mercy Medical Center North Iowa due to complications of ALS (Lou Gehrigs Disease). Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, (July 30, 2009) at Grace United Methodist Church, 200 14th St. N.W. with Rev. Keith Scott officiating. Inurnment will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery. A gathering of friends and family will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the Georgia Hanford Park, 22nd St. S.E. on Wednesday, July 29, 2009. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Randal Eldridge memorial fund in care of the family. The family requests that casual sports apparel be worn for the memorial service.
Randal Lee Eldridge was born January 30, 1952 in Mason City, Iowa the son of Eugene and Twyla (Ayer) Eldridge. Randal attended and graduated from Mason City High School in 1971. He was married to Donna Pearson on September 2, 1978 in Mason City and they were life-long Mason City residents. Randal was an avid Green Bay Packer and Iowa Hawkeye fan. He had a passion for fishing, liked to draw and had a love for animals. He enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren and his friends. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Mason City0. Randal will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife Donna of Mason City; daughters, Angella Dickinson and husband Rod of Mason City, Sara Authier and husband Shane of Mason City; daughter-in-law, Amanda Eldridge of Mason City; grandchildren, Westly, Keegan, and Kailob Eldridge, Angel, Skyler, Lillian, and Zander Dickinson, Hailey, Parker and Ellie Authier, and Chelcie and Halie Bryant; brother, Richard Eldridge and wife Judy of Mason City; sister, Shari Proscovec and husband Rick of Mason City; brother, Ronald Eldridge and wife Judy of Colorado; and brother, Rod Eldridge of Ames, IA; niece, Candy Proscovec; sister-in-law, Terry Eldridge of Mason City; and good friends, Tom Bryant and wife Carmen and Dustin Gott.
He was preceded in death by son, Chad Eldridge; brother, Robert Eldridge; parents; Eugene, Twyla, and Cleo Eldridge.
