Randy was born January 13, 1960, in Mason City, the son of Loren and Barbara Jeanine (Trevett) Hohenfield. He attended Mason City Public Schools. Randy was devoted and hardworking throughout his life. Over the years he worked at Fieldstone, Winnebago, and Miller Tree Service, where he enjoyed working for Dean Miller. He really loved and took pride in his most recent job at Dimensional Graphics, where he worked until August of 2013, when he was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer. Randy was a nature lover who found joy in camping, visiting with his friends, watching the neighborhood kids at play, trains, and biking. He would ride his bike everywhere, and each 4th of July he would look forward to riding his bike over to Clear Lake for the festivities. Randy was good with his hands and was considered to be a “handy man”. Many times he would help the Landlords with maintenance and fix-up work around the apartments. Randy is survived by his son: Jamey Hohenfield and wife Jennifer; 1 granddaughter: McKenzie Hohenfield; 3 siblings: Mark Hohenfield and wife Sue, Terry Hohenfield and special friend Kay Rathmann, and Shawn Luna – all of Mason City. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends from North Iowa and the surrounding areas, especially his fellow patrons from the Kozy Korner Bar. He was preceded in death by his parents; and 1 brother: Donald Hohenfield.
Memorials may be directed to the Randy Hohenfield memorial fund in care of the family.
