Raymond Dale Carpenter

Raymond D. Carpenter, 68, of Mason City died unexpectedly in his sleep on Sunday, February 9th, 2025.

Raymond was born to Glen and Betty (Proscovec) Carpenter in Mason City, IA on January 17th 1957, and graduated from Mason City High school in 1975.

On December 9th 1977, he was united in marriage to Tammy Shannon at Trinity Lutheran Church. To this union 3 children were born. Daughter Jamie in 1978, son Shay in 1980 followed by Son Dillon in 1986.

Raymond had numerous jobs in construction and factory work before he chose to become an OTR Truck Driver.

 In earlier years he enjoyed camping with family, watching and attending NASCAR and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. He also attended many sports games that his children were involved in throughout their sporting careers when time allowed.

Survivors include his wife Tammy, daughter Jamie of Mason City, son Shay (Andrea) of Britt, and son Dillon (Kati) Carpenter of North Liberty. Grandchildren Nevaeh and Mykenna Poulin, Andersyn Skellenger, Colton Noland, Kinnick Valentine, Ruby, Kai, and Banks Carpenter. Along with his two siberian huskies Rysia and Teddy, and his cat Philmore.

His siblings, Ron (Lora) Carpenter, Wendy (John) Patton, Sandy (Gary) Fox, Jerry Carpenter, Bob (Julie) Carpenter, Connie Greenan, Kay (Dan) Hathaway, Special cousin Donna (Jim) Emhoff, sister in laws Reenie Skellenger and Michele Shannon and numerous nieces and nephews.

Raymond was proceeded in death by his parents, inlaws John (Jack) and Shirley Shannon.

Inurnment and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
