Richard (Dick) D. Snedden

MASON CITY: Richard D. Snedden, age 88, of Mason City, died Sunday, January 25, 2015 at Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City. Private family services will be held at a later date. Richard (Dick) Dean Snedden was born May 4, 1926 in Hocking, Iowa to William and Mary Ann Hayward Snedden. He married Ruth Margaret Miller on April 17, 1948. Richard graduated from Granger high school in 1943. He then served in the Navy from 1943-1946. Richard obtained his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Northern Iowa. He was a purchasing agent for most of his career. Richard was a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge and belonged to the Eastern Star. He is survived by his wife Ruth, his son Rick, and daughter-in-law Lynn. He was preceded in death by his parents and 8 brothers and sisters. Memorials may be given to North Iowa Hospice or Salvation Army Adult Daycare in Mason City.
