Robert D. Griffen

Robert D. Griffen, 70, of Plymouth, passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center. A visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Friday, December 22, 2023, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N Pennsylvania Ave. Inurnment will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family of Robert Griffen.

Robert Dean Griffen was born in Mason City on June 6, 1953, to parents Dale and Frances (Martin) Griffen. Robert was united in marriage to Betty J. Epperson on December 17, 1983. The couple lived in Grasston, MN until moving to Plymouth. Robert worked as a Union Welder and had spent most of his career traveling.

Robert is survived by his wife, Betty; children, Shannon Belcher, Heather (Steve) Swanson, Char (Aaron) Belcher; siblings, Rosalie (Gene) Carda, Dennis (Carolyn) Griffen, Joyce Griffen; grandchildren, Nyesa (Brian) Anderson, Allisa (Kurt) Newman, Aurianna (Sean) Workenaour, Michael (Lea) Shegstad, Justin (Shiann) Shegstad, Christopher Auers Jr., Hannah Mallet, Marshall Hackbart, August Hackbart; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Darryl Griffen, Charlotte Reynolds, Barbara Nies; brother-in-law, Delmar Nies; grandparents; nephew, Darryl Lynn Griffen; Granddaughter, Haeley Mae Auers.
