Robert Dale Seeberger, 86, left us to join the Lord April 11, 2009. He was born June 16, 1922 to Grover and Ella (Lade) Seeberger at Garner, Iowa. He moved to Mason City with his family in 1927. Graveside services for family and friends will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery, Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Keith Scott, Wesley United Methodist Church officiating. Memorials may be directed to the Robert Seeberger memorial fund in care of the family.
He was a graduate of Mason City High School and attended Hamilton Business College. He served in the United States Army at Brisbane, Australia, England and Japan during World War II.
He was married to Opal Benson at Norfolk, Nebraska in 1948. Robert was employed by the Chicago & Northwestern Railroad for 35 years. He began work as a switchman and after losing his left hand in a train accident worked as a railroad office clerk and was later promoted to Trainmaster for the Iowa and Minnesota territory. He retired in 1982.
He is survived by his wife Opal, three children: Mrs. Paul (Marcia) Bjerke, granddaughters: Vanessa and Acacia, Spencer (Beverly) Seeberger, grandsons: Ryan (Kara) and Nathan, Jayne Seeberger and granddaughter Kelsey.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and a grandson Casey Joe Seeberger.
