Roger E. “Hap” Levy, 69, of Mason City, IA, formerly of Lansing, MN, died Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at his home. Per his wishes, his body was cremated. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 21, 2014, at the First United Methodist Church, 119 South Georgia – Mason City, with Pastor Linda Johnson Prestholt of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Manly officiating. There will be a gathering of family and friends one hour prior to the church service. Inurnment will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Roger Levy memorial fund in care of the family. Roger was born December 13, 1944, in Austin, MN, the son of Edward and Frances (Hall) Levy. He graduated from Hayfield High School in 1962. Hap married Connie Lee on July 24, 1982, at the First United Methodist Church in Mason City. Hap loved to work. He farmed in the Austin area (25 years), was the Lansing Township Supervisor (18 years), and worked for RCIS Insurance as the Area Claims Supervisor (25 years), until his retirement in 2013. Hap enjoyed spending time with his family – especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed carpentry, attending sporting events and taking care of his animals. He moved to Mason City in 2008 and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Hap was a kind and gentle person. He will be deeply missed. Hap is survived by his wife of almost 32 years: Connie Levy of Mason City; his children: David Levy and wife Linda of Blackduck, MN, Julie Byrne and husband Al of Bemidji, MN, Lee Ann Kuck and husband Roger of Mason City, Bob Stalker and wife Olivia of Clear Lake, IA, and Tom Stalker of Mason City; 12 grandchildren: Taylor, Morgan, Matthew, Cameron, Jamie, Derek, Megan, Bobbie, Evan, T.J., Sarah and Charlee; 6 great-grandchildren: Jareese Jr., Jada, Adriana, Jaxon, Haven and Jacob; his father: Edward Levy of Brownsdale, MN; and 3 sisters: Joy Oudekirk and husband Darrel of Austin, MN, Nancy Grant and husband Jim of Renville, MN, and Robben Crabtree and husband Gene of Brownsdale. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother: Frances Levy; and his grandparents: Mr. and Mrs. Ed Levy Sr.
