Ronald G. Bier, 74, of Mason City, passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at his home.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at 10:30 a.m., at First United Methodist Church, 119 South Georgia, with Rev. Carol Kress officiating.
Services will be livestreamed on First United Methodist Church’s Facebook Page.
Interment will be held in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, from 4:00-6:00 p.m., at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 North Pennsylvania.
Memorials may be directed to First United Methodist Church.
Ronald Glenn Bier was born on May 18, 1948, in Belmond, Iowa to parents Glenn and Ardes (Polsdofer) Bier. Ron graduated from Belmond High School in 1966. After graduation, he attended classes at NIACC and Drake before moving to Mason City. Ron was employed as an engineering technician at WHKS and Company for 48 years. He retired in 2018.
In his free time, Ron loved biking, trout fishing, and traveling. He enjoyed wood working and building furniture for friends and family. Ron was very passionate about collecting various items, photography, spending time with family and he loved his friends at the De Ville IV Apartments. Ron will be deeply missed by those who knew him and loved him.
Ron is survived by his mother, Ardes Bier; brother, David (Marcia) Bier; niece, Jennifer (Jake) Hjelle; and two great nephews, Dakota and Dylan Hjelle.
Ron was preceded in death by his father, Glenn Bier; nephew, Josh Bier; and grandparents.
