Ruth L. Trudo, 88, of Mason City died Sunday, March 25, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center – North Iowa. Funeral services will be at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue, with Rev. Keith Scott of Wesley United Methodist Church officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice of North Iowa, 232 2nd Street Southeast, Mason City, IA 50401. Ruth was born February 22, 1924, in Mason City, the daughter of Arthur and Thelma (Anderson) Clark. She attended school in Mason City. On September 27, 1938, Ruth married Clifford G. “Kip” Trudo in Mason City. Over the years, Ruth worked for Mason City Tent & Awning, K&A Engraving, and Metalcraft. Following retirement, Ruth and her husband lived in Escondido, CA for 13 years before moving back to Iowa. Ruth was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling with her husband. She also enjoyed helping others and was a volunteer at Mercy Medical Center – North Iowa for many years. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church (Escondido and Mason City) – where she was very active, and involved in Naomi’s Circle. She was also active at the IOOF Home, where she spent the last few years of her life. Ruth is survived by her son: Cliff Trudo and wife Patti of Murfreesboro, TN; 9 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and daughter-in-law: Cindy Trudo of Montgomery, IL. She is also survived by 2 special nieces: Bonnie Bernemann and Sharon Olson, both of Mason City, as well as several other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 2010, one son: Clark Trudo; and one brother: Eugene Clark.
