Sandra Jean Brand, 61 of Mason City and formerly of Rockford left this world on November 8, 2004 at Hospice of North Iowa following a short battle with cancer. Funeral services for Sandra will be held at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, November 11, 2004 at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 North Pennsylvania Avenue with the Rev. Kathy Graves, Director of Spiritual Care ? Hospice of North Iowa officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM ? 8:00 PM, Wednesday, November 10, 2004 at Major Erickson Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to the family. As per her wishes Sandra?s body will be cremated following the funeral service. Sandra was the daughter of Paul and Ida (Mueller) Schrage of Rudd and the sister of Robert Schrage. She was born on December 9, 1942 in Iowa City, Iowa. Sandra was a 1961 graduate of the Rockford Senior High School; she then attended La James College of Cosmetology to become a beautician. Sandra graduated from La James in 1963. She worked at a solon for a short time before she began raising her family. Sandra loved her hobbies which included crocheting, making holiday decorations from plastic canvas, painting wood and ceramic knick-knacks, going to I-35 to watch the Sunday races, listening to Elvis Presley and spending time with her dog, Rocky. Sandra was employed at the Golden Corral and from there she went to work for the Globe Gazette. Her co-workers at the Globe were able to enjoy her smiles and witty charm for six years. Those left to cherish her memory are her five children: Denice Dailey of Northwood; Jeff Dailey and wife Mary of Glendale, Arizona; Paul Dailey and fiancée Roxie Anderson of Mason City; Michelle Uker and husband Roger of Rockford; and Laurie Brand and fiancé Jamie Lawless of Mason City. Sandra will be dearly missed by her grandchildren: Brandon and Jacob Johnson, Caylor and Chelcie Teepe and Kylie Lawless; her step-grandchildren, Shane Uker, Jenny Hadacek, Elizabeth Stone, Audrey Kuusisto, Cassandra and Chris Anderson, Paula and Tasha Blank and Randi Lee Rhodes. Also left to cherish her memory is her sister-in-law, Evie Schrage, her four nieces and their spouses, adoptive grandchildren, Jayden and Hanna Brown, Dalton Bendickson, Steven Jepsen and Danielle Eggers. Her parents, Paul and Ida Schrage; her brother, Robert Schrage and very special friend Larry Miller, preceded her in death.
