Seth Randall Mahnesmith

Seth Randall Mahnesmith, 29, of Blackhawk, CO, formerly of Mason City, IA, died Saturday June 4, 2016 at the St. Anthony Hospital in Lakewood, CO, with his family and girlfriend by his side. Memorial services will be held at 4 PM Friday, June 10, 2016 at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue. Family will greet friends from 3:00 PM until service time on Friday. Memorials may be directed to the Seth Mahnesmith memorial fund in care of the family.

Seth was born November 17, 1986 the son of Randy and Tracy (Arnold) Mahnesmith in Mason City, Iowa. Seth graduated from Mason City High School and continued his education at Hawkeye Community College receiving his degree in Business and Marketing.

Seth loved music festivals and his favorite groups Phish and String Cheese and numerous others. Seth was an advocate for living life to the fullest and enjoying all it had to offer. His family and friends held a special place in his heart and he cherished his time with them all. Seth’s contagious smile would quickly spread throughout a room. His big heart was felt by everyone he encountered.

Seth is survived by his parents, Randy (Michelle) Mahnesmith, Tracy (Danny) Shackleton, sisters, Lindsey, Shelby and Cassandra, special nephews, Marquise, Jadyn and Taz, grandmother, Marilyn Arnold and very special friend, Makenzie Amundson and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Seth was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Loren Mahnesmith and Beverly Luttrell and maternal grandparents, James Arnold, Clyde and Ella Shackleton.
