Sharlyene M. Baird, died Wednesday, August 16, 2006 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit with her family by her side. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, (August 19, 2006) at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah?s Witness, 4060 4th St. SW, with Brother Dennis Brock officiating. A gathering of friends and family will be held 5-7 PM Friday (August 18, 2006) at her daughter Becky?s house at 726 North Pennsylvania Ave. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Hospice of North Iowa or the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah?s Witness. Sharlyene was born September 14, 1937 in Garner, Iowa, the daughter of Lloyd G. and Florence (Dickinson) Ulrich. She grew up in Clear Lake until moving to Mason City in 1953. She worked at IMI Cornelius for twenty-one and half years until her retirement in 1999. She enjoyed spending time with her children and especially attending her grandchildren?s activities. She loved ?Fun Day Friday? a day where Sharlyene and her family would spend the day together. Sharlyene was baptized as one of Jehovah?s Witnesses on February 12, 1967 and had the privilege to serve as a full-time minister at the Garner and most recently the Mason City Congregation. Sharlyene is survived by her children, Michael Jensen and wife Karen of Rockford, MN, Terry Jensen and wife Ila of Northwood, Iowa, Debbie Pralle and husband Dean of Mason City, Jackie Hjelle and husband Mike of Mason City and Becky Gump and husband Roger of Mason City; grandchildren, Brittani Jensen, Jamie Gasteiger and husband Justin, Heather Cody and husband Matt, Betsy Wright and husband Dwayne, Mandi Pralle and special friend Kris, Mat Pralle, Terry Hjelle and wife Heather, Samantha Hjelle, Danika Gump and special friend Matt, Kayla Gump and Collin Gump; nine great-grandchildren and two step-grandsons; brothers, Ronald Ulrich of Mason City, Merlyn Ulrich and wife Geneva of Mason City, Richard Ulrich and wife Pauline of Klemme, IA; sisters, Beverly Gates of Dunn, NC, Linda Quinones and husband Johnny of Mason City and Roberta Meyer and husband Don of Mason City; numerous nieces and nephews and many dear friends, especially Pam and Jean. Sharlyene was preceded in death by her parents; her children?s father, Juell Jensen; grandchildren, Shannon Marie Jensen and Daniel Lee Jensen.
