Sharon J. Muhlstein

Sharon J. Muhlstein, 81, of Mason City, died Thursday, November 22, 2018 at Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, November 26, 2018 at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave, with Pastor Kathy Graves officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Sunday, November 25, 2018 from 4:00-6:00 PM at the funeral home.

Sharon was born on April 3, 1937, the daughter of Burt and Claudia (Eikenberry) Boyd in Greene, Iowa. She attended and later graduated from Greene High School and went on to Nurse’s Training in Pontiac, MI. She was employed at Mercy Hospital for 6 years and later Good Shepherd Health Center for 17 years until her retirement in 1999.
On September 8, 1962, Sharon was united into marriage with Donald D. Muhlstein at Trinity Lutheran Church in Mason City. Two children were born to this union.
Sharon was a member of Curves for over 10 years and thoroughly enjoyed her time spent there. She also loved spending time with and talking to her grandchildren whom she adored very much. She enjoyed going out to eat with her friends and family whenever she had the chance.
Sharon is survived by her two children, Eric (Donna) Muhlstein, Stacie (Mark) Goebel; four grandchildren, Logan and Lydia Muhlstein and Morgan and Mia Goebel; one sister-in-law Jeanette Boyd and many nieces and nephews.
Sharon is preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Camelia (Robert) Mowrey, and two brothers, Burt Boyd Jr. and William Boyd.
