Sidney R. Lee, 85 of Mason City died Monday, September 13, 2004 at the I.O.O.F. Home in Mason City surrounded by his family. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, September 15, 2004 at Elmwood Cemetery will the Rev. Donald L. Simmonds of Trinity Lutheran Church in Mason City officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Mason City Veteran?s Memorial Association. Memorials may be directed to the Sidney R. Lee Memorial Fund. Sidney R. Lee was born September 26, 1918 in Northwood, the son of Olaf O. and Gunda (Olberg) Lee. He attended schools in Mason City and then served in the United States Army in World War II. Following his honorable discharge from the Army Sidney was united in marriage to Margaret C. Kloberdanz on October 4, 1952 in Northwood. He worked for Indianhead Farms for 56 years retiring on March 1, 1994. Sidney loved fishing, hunting, reading westerns and working on cars. Those left to cherish his memory are his: daughter, Carolyn Eppens and husband John of Mason City; two step-sons, Michael Haag and wife Joan and Leonard Haag all of Mason City; sister, Hazel Theis also of Mason City; grandchildren, David Haag and wife Davi of Rockwell, Victoria and Stephen Haag of Mason City, Brent and Eric Jackson of Garner, Amber and Megan Haag of Mason City, Craig and Jennifer Eppens of Nora Springs, Katie and Chad Dorenkamp of Mason City; great grandchildren, Aaron, Andi and Autumn ?Maggie? Haag of Rockwell, Jamie and Sarah Holder of Mason City, Patience Meyer of Mason City, Nicholas and Tiarra Haag of Mason City, Jacob Suhr and Jorge Rivera II of Mason City, Steven, Chloe and Josiah Eppens of Nora Springs, Veruca and Zoee Dorenkamp of Mason City; a niece, Rozena Van Lent and husband Ted of Mason City; and a nephew, Carroll Theis and wife Dyane of Mason City. Sidney was preceded in death by his parents, wife Margaret C. Lee on November 13, 2002, and a nephew, Glen Virgil Theis.
