Stephen G. Schlosser

Stephen G. Schlosser, 55, of Mason City, died Monday, May 30, 2016 at home. A celebration of life service will be held 1:30 PM Saturday, June 4, 2016 at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue with Pastor Ed Bard, Chaplain, Hospice of North Iowa officiating. Casual attire is welcomed. Per Steve’s request, he will be cremated. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home. Private family inurnment will take place in Ellsworth, Michigan at a later date. Memorials may be directed to A.L.S. or the Humane Society of North Iowa.

Steve was born June 26, 1960 in Pontiac, Michigan the son of Charles and Shirley (Stoner) Schlosser. He graduated from Mason City High School in 1978, then went on to attend and graduate from North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) and Mankato State University. Steve married the love of his life, Sue Eekhoff, October 17, 1987 in Mason City. Steve had a passion for food and wine and would later become a certified wine specialist working in the wine department at Hy-Vee West. He enjoyed traveling, trivia and a love for animals, especially his dog, Roscoe and 2 cats, Opossum and Marly. Steve had also been employed by the Clear Lake School District. The family would like to thank Hospice of North Iowa and Kelli for their kindness and care.

Steve is survived by his wife, Sue of Mason City; mother, Shirley Schlosser of Tucson, Arizona; 1 brother, Charles Schlosser of Mason City; 1 aunt, Carolyn Andersen of Orangevale, California; 4 sisters-in-law, Carol (Bob) Everett of Omaha, Nebraska, Donna (Jon) Eggum of Albert Lea, Minnesota, Jan (Oley) Olsen of Mason City and Linda (Rich) Foss of Winona, Minnesota; 1 brother-in-law, Paul (Denise) Eekhoff of Clarion; several nieces and nephews.

Steve was preceded in death by his father.
