Steven R. Foss

Steven Roy Foss, 59 of Mason City, died Sunday, June 1, 2008 at Carle Foundations Hospital in Urbana, Illinois.  Funeral services will be held 1:30 PM Thursday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue with Rev. Steve Hansen, Wesley United Methodist Church officiating.  Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 11:30 AM Thursday till time of service at the funeral home.  Born on February 7, 1949 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, he was the son of Roy and Vivian (Johnson) Foss.  The family moved from Strum, Wisconsin to the Kenosha area in 1957 where Steve attended Mound Center Grade School, graduating from Wheatland Center Grade School and Central High School-Salem.  He then attended the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.  Steve married Dana Graham September 21, 1997 in Mason City, and had lived there since.  Steve worked most of his life in carpentry and was an excellent finish carpenter.  He currently owned and operated Dana Construction Company and most recently contracted finish work on Medical Centers.  Steve loved hunting and fishing which he enjoyed with his father, brothers, and many friends over the years.  Family was very important to Steve.  He also enjoyed cooking and baking and spending time with his family at home. 
 
He will be dearly missed and his survived by his wife, Dana of Mason City; daughters, Jessica and Erin; parents, Roy and Vivian Foss of Burlington, WI; 1 sister, Kathryn (Ken) Meyers of Bristol, WI; 3 brothers, Donald (Diane) Foss of Hazel Green, WI, William (Kay) Foss of New Munster, WI, and Thomas Foss of Eau Claire, WI; nieces and nephews; Maggie Meyers and grand-nephew Ben Meyers, Matt Meyers, Josh Meyers, Mandy Foss, Kristy Foss, Shauna (Foss) and Josh Sendelbach, Heather Foss, Lindsey Foss, and many friends and relatives.
 
Steve was preceded in death by an infant sister, Diana Lynn in 1948.
