Sylvia Kay Flores

Sylvia Kay Flores, 52, of Mason City, died Tuesday, October 16, 2007 at her home. A private family Graveside services will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery. Upon her wishes, her body will be cremated. Kay hopes her family and friends will say a prayer for her and keep her in their memories. Memorials may be given to the Sylvia ?Kay? Flores Memorial Fund. Kay was born June 18, 1955 in Mason City, the daughter of Harold and Zona (Bell) Lien. She graduated from Mason City High School in 1973. Kay married John Flores on May 21, 1982 in Rock Falls, IA. She loved to work in her flower garden and fish with her husband. She also enjoyed taking care of her cats and was very proud of her contributions to the Humane Society. Kay was employed with Principal Financial Group as a Princor Registered Representative. Kay is survived by her husband: John Flores, one brother: Jack Lien and wife Karen and their children: Jodi Wendel, Kim Mariner and husband David, and Jay Lien and wife Angie; two sister-in-laws: Julie Ostrander and husband Scott and Jeannett Wasicek and husband Damon; her mother and father-in-law: John and JoAnne Flores, all of Mason City. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Kay is preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
