Thelma A. Ver Brugge, 90, of Mason City, IA, died Wednesday, February 4, 2015, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, February 7, 2015, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue, with Pastor Kathy Graves of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery. Thelma Audrey Thompson was born April 13, 1924, in Ellsworth, IA, the daughter of Oscar and Cora (Hill) Thompson. She grew up and attended school in Belmond, IA. On August 14, 1947, Thelma married Joe Ver Brugge in Albert Lea, MN. She enjoyed her employment with Heritage Care Center where she worked for 30 years before her retirement in 1997. Thelma also enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, walking and socializing with neighbors and friends over coffee, including at The Manor where she lived in her later years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Thelma is survived by her son Robert “Bob” Ver Brugge and wife Judy of Mason City; and granddaughter Stacie Ver Brugge of Minneapolis, MN. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Joe in 1983; brother Obert Thompson and sister DeLoris Rowley; several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.

Interment will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery.
