Theresa E. Arends, 46 of rural Plymouth died Tuesday, October 4, 2005 at her home in Plymouth following a long-time struggle with Lupus and complications of the flu. Funeral services for Theresa will be held at 11 AM on Friday at Temple Baptist Church, 1211 South Kentucky Avenue with Rev. Ed Bard officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM on Thursday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 North Pennsylvania Avenue and one hour prior to service time at the church on Friday. Memorials may be directed to the Theresa Arends Memorial Fund. Theresa Ellen Arends was born January 27, 1959 the daughter of Maynard and Dorothy (DeBolt) Arends in Mason City. She attended North Central Manly High School and then worked for Winnebago Industries for eighteen years. Theresa loved children and she showed this by helping out at the daycare at Curves in Mason City. Before Theresa became disabled she loved her Goldwing motorcycle and took a long trip to Wyoming on it. She was an active member of Temple Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school, was active in helping with the youth group and helped mow the lawn. The Lord was an important part of Theresa?s life and she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior in November of 1973. Theresa was a strong-spirited person who was known as a hard worker and passionate about everything she did. She enjoyed woodworking, gardening and making crafts. Theresa also had a talent for landscaping, she could take anything in the yard and turn it into a work of art. Theresa dearly loved all of her family and especially loved her many nieces and nephews. She also loved her two black labs, Buster and Bailey, they were her children. Theresa will be missed dearly by all of her family and friends. Those left to cherish her memory are her parents: Dorothy and Maynard Arends of Plymouth; her two sisters, Emily Althof and husband Louis of Mason City and Nancy Rheingans and husband Roger of Kasson, Minnesota; nephew, Andrew Althof and wife Brandy and their children, Taylor, Elizabeth and Hunter all of Hanlontown; niece, Katy Althof and her children, Gavin and Benjamin all of Mason City, nephew, Daniel Rheingans of Chariton, Iowa, niece, Sarah Mason and husband Talley of Rochester, Minnesota; several aunts, uncles, cousins and her two black labs, Buster and Bailey. Theresa was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Robert and Emily DeBolt and her paternal grandparents, John and Hermiene Arends.
