Thomas E. Jarvill

Thomas Edward Jarvill, 56, of Mason City, died on Monday, March 7, 2022, at the MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2022, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N Pennsylvania Ave.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service time.

Inurnment will be held in the Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to the North Iowa Humane Society, 2700 S Birch Dr.

Thomas was born on July 12, 1965, in Mason City to James and Geraldine (Albers) Jarvill. Thomas grew up in the Forest Park neighborhood.
He enjoyed riding his bike, building tree forts, collecting baseball cards and comic books, and playing little baseball and hockey. He attended Wilson Elementary, Monroe Junior High, and Mason City High School, graduating in 1983. He played football and hockey. Thomas graduated from the University of Iowa in 1988. He was a member of the Phi Gamma Delta.

Thomas enjoyed reading, especially historical novels. He was an avid Chicago Bears fan, and looked forward to watching their games on Sunday Afternoons. He was a music lover, enjoying the Blues and Rock and Roll.

Thomas was united in marriage to Diana Steeves on October 15, 2010, in Las Vegas.

Thomas is survived by his sister Janna (Bruce) Wuttke; brother David (Katie) Jarvill; nieces Keely (Brett) McGary, and Amanda Wuttke; and nephews Andrew Wuttke, Sam Jarvill, and Will Jarvill.

He was preceded in death by his parents James and Geraldine Jarvill; grandparents Ted and Fanna Albers, and Ernest and Edith Jarvill.
