Toni Torres, 36, of Mason City, died Sunday, January 1, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center - North Iowa. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, January 6, 2012, at St. James Lutheran Church, 1148 4th Street S.E., with Pastor Paul Nelson and Pastor Jeni Bohls officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Thursday (January 5, 2012) at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue. Interment will be at Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Toni Torres memorial fund in care of the family or North Iowa Community Credit Union. Toni Teresa Torres was born February 14, 1975, in Iowa City, IA, the daughter of John and Angela (Dailey) Torres. She graduated from Mason City High School in 1993. Toni continued her education at UNI in Cedar Falls, IA, graduating in 1998, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology. For the past 11 years, Toni worked for Francis Lauer Youth Services (Family Connections), where she counseled teenage mothers on parenting and life skills. Toni secretly aspired to become an online counselor, and would often use Facebook to chat with and counsel others. Toni enjoyed spending time with her family – especially her daughter Lexi. She also enjoyed roller derby, swimming, bike riding, and participating in RAGBRAI. Toni was a member of St. James Lutheran Church and the Dames of Anarchy Roller Derby Team. Toni is survived by her fiancé: Paul Rowe of Mason City; her daughter: Lexi; step-daughter: Jordan; her father: John Torres of Mason City; grandmothers: Joanne Dailey of Mason City and Deloris McDowall of Mason City; siblings: Damon Torres of Mason City, Erik Torres of Mason City, Helena Torres of Mason City, Shad Arispe of Rockwell City, IA, Noah Arispe of Hampton, IA, Angelica Despenas of Mason City, and Ashleigh Torres of Mason City; and special family friend and adopted sister-in-law: Tara Northrup of Mason City. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother,; and great grandparents: Edmund and Iola Kunz.

Cemetery:
Interment will be at Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery
