Valetta M. Ward

Valetta M. Ward, 100, of 1037 19th St. SW, died Saturday (February 21, 2004) at the I.O.O.F. Home. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Wednesday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue with Rev. Keith Scott, Wesley United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before services Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the I.O.O.F. Home. Valetta was born October 30, 1903 in Ames, Iowa the daughter of Ben and Viola (Inkelking) Erickson. She graduated from Mason City High School and Cedar Falls Teachers College. Valetta married Earnie A. Ward June 16, 1927 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. She was a life long resident of Mason City, a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and Queen Rebekah Lodge. Valetta is survived by her son, Keith O. Ward and wife Donna of San Juan Capistrano, CA; 6 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren. Valetta was preceded in death by her husband, Earnie Ward; 2 sons, Roger and Allan; brother, Clyde and sister, Adele.
