William A. Duncan, 98, of 302 2nd St. NE, died Saturday (November 15, 2003) at the Good Shepherd Health Center. Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday at Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Sarah Rohret Odoom, Grace United Methodist Church, officiating. Full military rites will be conducted by the Mason City Veterans Memorial Association. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 AM Thursday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue. Memorials may be given to the William A. Duncan Memorial Fund. Bill was born April 8, 1905 in Bedford, Virginia the son of John E. and Emma J. (Powell) Duncan. He attended school in Mason City and served in the US Navy during WW II. He was co-owner of the Kozy Corner Tavern here in Mason City for many years. Bill was a member of the VFW, American Legion, Moose Lodge, Elks Lodge, Lunker Club and the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War. Bill is survived by a niece; Kathryn Griffith of Houston, Texas and a close family friend; Gwen Cory of Mason City. Bill was preceded in death by his 4 brothers, 2 sisters and 2 half sisters.
