William Henry “Bill” Clausen, 88, died at Good Shepherd Health Center in Mason City, Iowa on Saturday, December 14, 2019.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at The Good Shepherd Health Center Chapel, 302 2nd St. NE, with Rev. Kent Mechler officiating.
Memorials may be directed to the family of Bill Clausen.
Bill was born in rural Charter Oak, Iowa on February 26, 1931, to parents William Sr. and Laura (Hallestein) Clausen. He later moved to Denison, Iowa, where he attended rural schools and graduated from Denison High School. Bill helped out on the family farm until 1954 when he moved to Oskaloosa, Iowa. He was employed by the Pella Rollscreen Company (now Pella Windows) until retirement. In his later years Bill moved to Mason City, Iowa.
Bill enjoyed polka music and country & western music. He loved dogs and other animals. He had a deep interest in politics, especially during the Kennedy administration. Bill was a member of the Lutheran Church most of his life. He made friends with many people from all walks of life whom he met through his involvement in a 12-step recovery program. Now he can meet his Higher Power!
